Who We Are
Foyers Community Stores Ltd is a Community Benefit Society established to own and operate Foyers Stores for the long-term benefit of the Stratherrick & Foyers community.
The project has been led by Boleskine Community Care, a well-established, award-winning local charity that has supported the area for over ten years.
Boleskine Community Care has secured funding to purchase the building and business. Ownership of the trading business will transfer to Foyers Community Stores Ltd, while the building will remain in community ownership to protect it as a long-term asset.
Our Structure
We operate as a Community Benefit Society (CBS).
This means:
-
One member, one vote — regardless of investment size
-
Asset lock protection — assets cannot be sold for private gain
-
Democratic governance through an elected Board
-
Reinvestment of surplus for community benefit
This model is widely used across Scotland for community-owned shops and services and ensures transparency, accountability and long-term protection.
